(SBU) Icelandic MFA Counselor for Human Rights Ingibjorg
Davidsdottir informed Poloff on 28 August that the GOI would support
Ruth Wedgwood for re-election to the UN Human Rights Committee at
the September 7 election. Davidsdottir (previously assigned to
Iceland's mission in Geneva) noted her positive impression of
Professor Wedgwood's service on the committee and said the GOI was
happy to support her as a candidate.
